Upgrade Software dan Hardware Web Server BOC ke Intel Dual Xeon E5405 Quad Core (Harpertown)

Untuk meningkatkan performa dan stabilitas web server berdata center di Lansing, Michigan – USA, Bali Orange Communications akan melakukan upgrade hardware web server dari spesifikasi lama ke spesifikasi baru (enterprise series), yaitu :

» Processor: Intel Dual Xeon E5405 Quad Core * (Harpertown)
- 8 cores total, 2.0GHZ per core
» Memory: 4GB DDR2 PC5300
» Hd1: 160GB 7200RPM SATA / 8MB Cache
» Hd2: 160GB 7200RPM SATA / 8MB Cache
» 50GB Remote Backup (+Offsite Backup) – Upgradeable.

Upgrade hardware tidak mengubah DNS maupun IP. Kami hanya melakukan perpindahan data dan reboot/restart server baru (selama kurang lebih 15 menit). Waktu pelaksanaan adalah hari Sabtu 22 Maret 2008, jam 23.00 WITA.

Software akan kami sesuaikan dengan versi terbaru, yaitu pada Apache, PHP (ke versi 5), MySQL dan PosgreSQL, dan Kernel. Dimohon kepada pelanggan webhosting untuk melakukan penyesuaian pada bahasa scripting websitenya. Sebelumnya, kami mohon maaf apabila terjadi ketidaknyamanan selama proses upgrade berlangsung. Quad-core processors contain four processing cores, residing on one chip, that perform calculations on four streams of data, thereby increasing efficiency and speed while running multiple programs and the new generation of multi-threaded software. This means a significant increase in response and performance when running multiple applications simultaneously.

To increase server performance and stability on Lansing Data Center, Michigan – USA, Bali Orange Communications server will be upgrade to a new hardware specification (Enterprise series). Detail of new server specification below:

Hardware upgrade will not change DNS or IP. Bali Orange Communications only moved client’s data and reboot / restart new server (proximally 15 minutes). This process will be performed Saturday, March 22nd 2008 at 23.00 WITA (Middle Indonesian Time)

Server software will be upgrade to new version of Apache, PHP (Version 5), MySQL and PostgreSQL and Kernel. Please be advised that web hosting costumer to adjust web script language based new version of server software. We are apologizing for your inconvenience during upgrade process.
