Lurik is traditional hand woven cloth from Java with uniqueness of stripes motive and bright colour. Different with Batik which is made by drawing and painting on a piece of material, Lurik comes from hand loomed and weaved of colourful yarn.
And now days as one of Indonesia heritage, a few numbers of Lurik producers can be found around Bantul, Yogyakarta and Klaten, Central Java.
Daughter of Klaten as JAVA HAND WEAVING CRAFT wish to play a role of lobby for creativity and channel for talent of Indonesian women precious crafts. Coin A Chance! merupakan sebuah gerakan sosial yang diawali di Jakarta pada Desember 2008.
Melalui gerakan ini, kami berusaha mengajak kawan-kawan, kerabat, keluarga, juga para netters (blogger, plurker, facebooker…) untuk mengumpulkan ‘recehan’ atau uang logam yang bertumpuk dan jarang digunakan. Uang yang terkumpul akan ditukarkan dengan ’sebuah kesempatan’ bagi anak-anak yang kurang mampu agar mereka dapat melanjutkan sekolah lagi.
Coin a Chance (CaC) Bali, didirikan atas inspirasi fenomenal dari CaC Jakarta. Dengan semangat kebersamaan dalam kemanusiaan, CaC Bali bersama berbagai jaringan yang ada berusaha menyalurkan recehan dari para donatur kepada anak-anak yang kurang mampu agar dapat melanjutkan sekolah.
